Punica granatum var. nana (Dwarf Pomegranate) is a compact deciduous shrub with glossy, narrowly oblong, deep green leaves that emerge bronze in spring. It is more cold-resistant than the species. They are evergreen in mild winter regions and turn a bright yellow in the fall. At an early age, this spectacular, thick, dwarf shrub produces stunning orange-red single blooms, which are followed by vivid orange-red decorative fruit. Excellent for use in pots or in the garden. A magnificent bonsai specimen. It thrives in hot, dry summer climates.
